Waiting to decorate the Tree
Some have decorated the tree.
Others wait for the 24th to decorate.
Some people start on the 1st of December,
To make the tree and Christmas a day to remember.
I remember holding a fistful of tinsel,
As a child, I watched with great interest,
My father and mother decorated the Christmas tree.
This is an image and feeling locked in my memory.
The time to decorate the Christmas tree is approaching.
I am eagerly waiting to start the great decoration.
A decorated home, the lights sparkling and the tree,
Is wonderful that makes everyone and everything so Christmassy.

They all have a special place under the Christmas tree.
My Mum and Dad in heaven will celebrate the spirit of Christmas,
There is a special place in my heart for them in festive bliss.
This year when you hold a fistful of tinsel,
As you decorate your home and the Christmas tree,
Take time to remember all those who have departed,
They will be by your side, at Christmas and through eternity.
