The restaurant was very busy and all the tables were full. There were queues of people lined up outside the large restaurant. It was Lucy’s restaurant. It belonged to her family, and it was now under her management and ownership. Furthermore, it was an Italian family-run restaurant and well known for its perfect home-cooking.
Today, this Friday, was not a perfect day for Lucy. She was working furiously in the kitchen and managing it was well. The Chef had fallen sick. Today, was an important day for the restaurant, as the Mayor of the Town with the Town Council were attending for a campaign celebration. Lucy wanted everything to be perfect. There were a few dishes that were returned to the kitchen because the customers said the food was cold. Warm dishes were sent out in ten minutes from the kitchen. At the end of the evening, Lucy breathed a sigh of relief. There were no great catastrophes and everyone was happy, including the Mayor’s two children who wanted larger burgers and a double portion of fries.
The next morning, Lucy’s restaurant got a glowing review in the local newspaper from a food critic. The cherry on top of the cake was when, Lucy’s Italian Restaurant was awarded five gold stars, by the Food and Restaurant Board in the city. Lucy was over the Moon, as that was something that meant a lot to her and to her parents, who had started the restaurant.
