Suppose just for an instant, in this world,
That it was possible, in some extraordinary way,
To get awards for all you do and for all you say.
Nothing exceptional but every simple thing,
Would it make you happy and ready to sing?
Imagine that there was such a meter,
Placed on some meter board somewhere,
It recorded all the work that you did in life.
It could be something such as a daily chore,
Taking the dog for a walk or going to the local store.
Going to make a cup of tea for the family,
Nothing special and yet so warm and ordinary.
That meter would record all that you do,
Everyone would get a heart-elevating raise,
Every person would have some reward,
A few incentives like gifts, tokens, coins, or praise.
Would it not be so magical to be appreciated,
To know that you are valuable and playing a part,
Your life is precious and so is your beating heart.
At the end of every day, we would be told,
All that we have achieved and gained during the day.
These metered points earned would be a gift,
That we could also gift to someone special,
Or we can collect them for cash rewards in life.
Redemption points to share in this wonderful life.
If this miracle could happen in this world,
It would be possible, in some extraordinary way,
To get awards for all you do and for all you say.
Nothing exceptional but every simple thing,
Would it make you happy, to rejoice, dance and sing?
