The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.
William Arthur Ward
When things get rough, as rough as the choppy waters, similar to a storm art sea, we get flustered. Some of us know and believe that the waters of life will get calmer sooner or later. There are others, who think and feel that their journey is very difficult and the storm or difficulties in their lives will never end. In stark contrast to this we have another group of individuals, who will find out what is not working, change those factors and move on. This is similar to adjusting the sails of a ship, to catch the favourable winds to get maximum speed and to steer clear away from the dangerous waves, that could sink the ship.
Instead of complaining that the world is coming to an end just because things get difficult, where you are in life and in your career, make a few changes as you move forward. There are times, when we feel like giving up and getting out of the race, when a situation is not very positive. That is the time, to meet the challenge and to look for the positive aspects of the situation. This will enable you to keep a positive mental attitude and overcome any stormy weather conditions in life.
When a stormy wind comes your way, do not try to stand in its way, it could break you, mentally, physically and psychologically. Instead, find a solution to the problem faced. You may expect it to change, but if it does not change very soon, find a way to adjust to the new conditions. That is sometimes the best way to handle difficult situations in life, while evolving as an individual. This will also give you the ability and skills to handle effectively, tough situations and meet challenges successfully in life.
