We have all told a lie at some time in life. We have all been told lies at some point in time. Yet, we cannot always spot a good lie and know a good liar. Some liars can tell you the most convincing lies. You will believe every word that they utter, from the trip they made to some exotic place, to the remarkable gadget they purchased or the wonderful opportunity that just “fell into their lap”. You believe them every time, even when there is no truth in what they say. The day comes around, when the world of the liar falls, behind his or her ears. That is the day when you are shocked to realize that all the tales, they told you and everyone around them were just lies. You smile to yourself, as you see the world of the liar crumble before your eyes.
Storytellers, are also liars, as they tell you the most interesting tales and make you believe them every time. They create characters and worlds in which the most interesting things happen. Worlds where people fall in love, where there is faith, loss, betrayal, hope, treasure, curses, secret missions and alliances, that take place in the most interesting places, some that exist and others that are fantasy. However, in the case of a storyteller, you know that the stories, myths and tales that he or she is weaving for you are for entertainment and no one is hurt in any way.
A liar, on the other hand, is a person, you cannot trust. They creep into your life, gain your confidence and then lie to you and break that bond of trust. A liar uses the power of stories to fabricate lies, upon lies and he or she gradually loses their way in their wicked world of lies, until they are found out.
Instead of being a bad liar, become a good storyteller and use the knowledge that you have to create better relationships, heal the world and make everyone you meet, a happier and more positive person. As a storyteller, you have the power within your grasp to change the world, in a small yet powerful way.

This is writing as field composition, assembling, mapping, ‘thinking with these hills’ to summon the wonders of place into being before the reader’s eyes. Trenchalty done! ☺️
Well. I know my dad's dad never worked as such, but was a master storyteller in every sense of the word. He even had one story Dad believed until his older sister showed him the joke book their dad got it from! Sadly, he died before I was born so I never met him, but apparently I have his mind and mom's dad's health, unfortunately
