Celebrating A Birthday
The thought of getting older can be scary or is it just cool to get older every year?
There are some people who want to get older to take it easy, relax, play with the grand-children, and enjoy time with family and friends. However, there are others who prefer more active lives, like running outdoors every morning, visiting places of interest, taking up hobbies that they have always wanted to do, but could never start due to working every day in nine to five jobs or even in their own enterprises.
Yes, we do get older as the birthdays come around every year, but it is a matter of perspective. Are we getting older mentally or simply physically. There are some who have the mind and quick with of twenty-year olds as elderly adults. The thought of getting older is scary when we think about losing our independence. We will not live and take advantage of all the wonders that life has to offer if we dwell on the future of what can or could not happen.
Some feel that getting older is cool and it is an opportunity to get a more mature outlook on life. Many love to celebrate their birthdays, while an equal number would wish that a birthday simply disappears, as it is a constant and annual reminder of getting older and lonelier. This does not need to be the case. A birthday is a celebration of who you are, how far you have come in life, with a boost to take you forward on this thrilling adventure called life, filled with so many possibilities, from love to work, to disappointments, to failures, triumphs to filling your days and nights with dreams, hopes, ambitions and opportunities to become the best version of yourself every year.
How do you celebrate your birthday and will you decide to make it different this year, to celebrate it with family, friends, with yourself or while enjoying the luxuries that nature offers from beautiful sunrise, to spectacular landscape and all the natural wonders and beauty of the world?
