Courage of a Space Cadet Bound for the Unknown
Some are born to lead even in limitless Space
It was Karuna’s dream job. She always wanted to be a space cadet. At last, her dreams were coming true. Her training was completed and she was chosen to fly to the next mission to a space station in a remote area of the galaxy. Karuna had done all the training that was needed for the next mission. Her job was to help in the management of the space station on a planet that was similar to Earth.
It is the year 2050 and space travel has developed in leaps and bounds, especially with the use of wormholes in space. Great distances can be covered in a fraction of the time. Karuna, got onto the rocket and she was very excited. It was a crew of six astronauts. The leader of the team, Captain Santoro was a seasoned astronaut. The rocket left the Earth’s atmosphere and they traveled for three months, covering great distances in space, past meteors, and asteroids.
It was the first of July when a wormhole was spotted in space. Captain Santoro, got his crew ready for the big leap through the large passage in space. The journey through the space tunnel was rough. Karuna tried to keep her eyes open but she could not. The velocity of the spaceship through the tunnel was unbelievable.
When Karuna awoke, she was shocked to find that she was the only person awake in the spacecraft. The others were unconscious after that gigantic leap across the universe. The spacecraft was hurtling through space. There was an asteroid storm in the distance and a black hole moving towards them. Karuna had to take control of the craft. She needed to remember all her training. Karuna closed her eyes, took a deep breath, moved the unconscious co-pilot out of her seat, and hopped into the chair to take control of the craft.
The rocket was moving and gaining speed as it hurtled toward the black hole. Using her maneuvering skills the young space cadet, moved below the asteroid belt, as they moved through space and missed several near collisions. The next, challenge she needed to tackle and it had to be done soon, was to move away from the magnetic field of the black hole. Karuna gasped as she saw the space rocks being sucked into the vacuum of the black hole.
After a while, Karuna got control of the spacecraft and breathed a sigh of relief. Captain Santoro and the rest of the crew gradually gained consciousness. Karuna was praised for her actions and her bravery. They now had a few more hours, to go before they reached the space outpost. They did not know what was waiting for them on that deserted space station, but they would need every ounce of courage to face that challenge.
