It was a day and then the day turned into a week. She could not be found, wherever he looked. Cupid had lost his lady love. He flew over the green fields, the silent meadows, and sparkling brooks, but he could not see his sweetheart. It was as if the earth had swallowed her and stolen her away from him.
Cupids companions the singing trio noticed his loneliness and tried to comfort him by reciting a poem to warm his aching heart:
Cupids Trio (singing in unison):
Every time he sees her,
His heart misses a beat.
Every time he is with her,
He cannot feel his feet.
Love is the strong thunder,
That pounds in his beating heart.
Their love brings them together,
They can never stay apart.
Love is the thunder of his soul,
His love for her is so powerful.
His love for her makes him whole.
Love is the beating throb,
That pulses in her veins.
Love has its joys, its pleasures,
Its happiness and its pains.
Love is the scent of romance,
That fills her life with joy.
Love is the moments they are together,
That fills their hearts with happiness and joy.
Love is that feeling of being complete,
As she holds him in her loving arms.
Embracing him with his quirks and charms.
Love is that feeling of being alive,
When he is lying by her side.
Love is that deep feeling within,
As he holds her close to him?
Love is the thunder that beats for her,
Love is her life and his love for her.
The waves of love fill her life,
She feels complete in her life.
The wild storms of passion,
Make their love complete.
The romance of love fulfilled,
When two loving souls meet.
Love is the passion and the flame,
It is divine and bears her name.
Romance and passion ignite the flame,
She carries her love with his name.
Their love is sweet romance burning bright.
Romance with passion keeps the fires alight.
Love is the thunder of his soul,
His love for her is powerful.
His love for her makes him whole.
Love is the beating throb,
That pulses in her veins.
Love has its joys, its pleasures,
Its happiness and its pains.
Love is the scent of romance,
That fills her life with joy.
Love is that feeling of being complete,
As she holds him in her loving arms.
Embracing him with his quirks and charms.
Love is the passion and the thunder,
That beats in your loving throbbing heart.
When love and romance do find you,
Never lose, abuse it or let it drift apart.
Your love is the thunder in your heart.
The song was beginning to warm Cupid’s, broken heart. He had known Isabel all his life. He met her when he was a teenager going to perform at the local village harvest festival. Cupid’s father was a farmer. But, Cupid, had a great desire to play his musical harp, wherever he went. He was singing a song and playing his harp, that day so many years ago when he spotted this lovely girl looking at him as if she was mesmerized. It was love at first sight for the young couple, who grew close together. Their families opposed the friendship. Isabel’s father was a baker and did not want his daughter marrying a poor farmer’s son.
Cupid loved his father and respected the work his father did tilling the soil and growing crops to feed to people of the land. Cupid composed a rhyme and played it with his harp about his life as a farmer’s son.
Cupid (singing on his harp):
As a child, he saw fruits of gold,
Growing on the orchard trees at home.
Those fruits were wonderful to hold,
Apples, pears, oranges, and cherries,
They were the wealth of his family he was told.
That orchard of golden fruit on silver trees,
Was his paradise of treasure swaying in the breeze.
He watched the sunshine on the fruits,
As a teenager, he helped his father on the fields,
To collect the fresh fruits of the orchard trees,
As they swayed gently in the summer breeze.
As a man, he cultivated his fruits and crops,
He cleared his land after every harvest with his plow.
He planted new seeds and watched them grow,
They gave a great yield and some more.
That orchard of golden fruits on golden trees,
Were the wealth and the treasure of his family.
For generations, his family tilled the soil,
It was his family’s livelihood and paradise,
They were rewarded with the fruits of their toil.
That orchard of golden fruit on silver trees,
Was his paradise of treasure swaying in the breeze.
The difficult times were when he worked hardest,
To protect his land from snow, frost, and ice,
To save the crops from rodents, pests, and lice,
To enable the orchard to always deliver its best.
He thanked the Heavens for a bounty of a harvest,
Overcoming famines was the hardest test.
The family orchard, its golden fruits, and silver trees,
Held the wealth and its legacies in its leaves in the breeze.
He always rescued his orchard and there was no price,
It was his soil, his home, his legacy, and his paradise.
It was always Cupid’s wish and fervent desire to allow everyone to fall in love. He believed and knew that there was love waiting for everyone.
Cupids Trio (singing in unison):
He searched for love in vain,
In the summer and in the rain.
Nowhere could he find,
Another of like mind.
She searched for love everywhere,
With her fast car and gorgeous hair.
The love she wanted could not be found,
In the skies or on the ground.
The day came when the stars aligned,
It was serendipity and a cosmic sign.
Her path crossed his on a summer day,
They fell in love that was to stay.
Venture out today and have fun.
It is no secret that there is love for everyone.
Live your life and spread your love,
Whether you live in the north pole,
Or under the Mediterranean sun,
There is love to be found for everyone.
That love will make you whole,
A romance to complete an empty soul.
A love to set fire in your quiet heart,
A romance so alive you can never part.
It is no secret that the love you desire,
Will light your heart like a fire.
Cupid was sad, he could not find the sunshine of his life. He would never feel that love again in his heart. Nothing would make Cupid feel happy not even the most beautiful sunrise or sunset. There was a time when he was filled with joy at everything he saw when he was with his soulmate.
Cupid:
Did you watch the sunrise today?
It was the prettiest sight you ever did see.
The way that the sun rose on the horizon,
Over the sleepy cityscape, like a dark sea.
The sun rose shining light over the city,
Spreading its light on every part of the world,
Illuminating minds and hearts over land and sea.
Bring a bit of that bright sunshine into your life.
Regardless of the mood, time and day,
Take a ray of sunshine into your world day.
Life is a comedy filled with pain and errors,
Let the radiant sun enter your life today,
Live, love, learn and play in life in every way.
Life is more than just a performance,
It is filled with emotion, love, and romance.
Be a bit light-hearted and grateful,
When you step outside to live and play.
The sun is brightening your day,
So, live and love with gratitude today.
Cupid’s life was cold and Gray since the day, that Isabel was taken away. Cupid’s minstrels noticed his sadness and sang together.
Cupids Trio (singing in unison):
The storm clouds blew,
The warm winds away.
The rumbling of thunder,
Chased the lightning bolts away.
The rain and the winds are back again,
Water rolls down the building and windowpane.
The life of winters is filled with cold and shivers.
The storms, the sleet, the rain, and back again.
The trees bowed their heavy heads in the wind,
The repentant sinner who has again sinned.
Fishermen came sailing back in a hurry,
To escape the storms and the tidal fury.
The black clouds rolled over the open sea,
The lamp of light was off in eternity.
Tidal waves of immense height,
Swamped towns and cities with their might.
The life of winters is filled with cold shivers.
Spears of ice rain down on humanity,
The rage of angels batters the old oak tree.
The elements are alive and raging this winter,
It brings frostbite, warm winds, and a cold shiver.
The life of winters is filled with cold, snow, and rain.
The storms, the sleet, the rain, and back again.
The rain and the winds are back again,
Water rolls down the building and windowpane.
As Cupid flew over the cities, the towns, the mountains, the oceans, the valleys, and the seas, he heard soft music playing in the breeze. It was the sweet voice of his Isabel.
Isabel sings to Cupid (from the window of her Castle of Love):
The flag of love flew,
At the top of the castle turret.
The birds of romance flew,
Over the Castle of love.
The first young couple embraced,
On the green grass of the lawn,
When all the rest of humanity,
Had moved and were now gone.
They built their castle of love,
On the sands beside the sea,
But those sandcastles did not last,
Nor was that love meant to be.
The second young couple kissed,
Under the light of the silver moon,
When every tender caress and touch,
Kept them safe in the month of June.
They built their castle of love,
On the large hard polished rock.
That castle rolled off the hill,
Into the depths of the green mossy loch.
The third young couple,
Built their castle of love,
To sail on the wide and open sea.
But the waves rose from the depths,
That love was not meant to be.
The fourth young couple,
Were in love under the pale moonlight,
Under the leaves and in the sunlight.
They built their castle of love,
In the open fields of a united heart.
Their love has lasted through time,
Their romance will never tear them apart.
They stand strong in their castle of love,
A gift to them from up above.
Love that will stand the test of time.
Their love will endure every clime.
Cupid embraced his beloved Isabel. His life was complete once again, he had found his soulmate and his sweet Valentine. Isabel had found the Castle of love, built on the strong foundations of trust, hope, friendship, understanding, communication, joy, and love for one another.
