Today, the 16th of June, is Father’s Day.
I miss my dad who passed away.
It is just one year since my father died.
I miss my mentor and friend who passed away.
Happy Father’s Day,
I think of you and always pray.
I know that we will meet again,
Somewhere in the stars, someday.
My father would write every day,
A story, article, or a poem come what may.
My Dad, Melvyn who was a wonderful writer,
He wrote down many a wonderful story idea.
My father was known as Melvyn the Storyteller.
He would teach children in schools,
The art of writing and storytelling.
He would open minds and he was entertaining.
My father completed a non-stop Story-thon.
He told one continuous story for three hours,
Changing themes, characters, and storylines.
Interweaving stories with legends and rhymes.
My father was my inspiration and hero.
He was a legend and Master Storyteller.
I can always aspire and hope one day to be,
A writer and a storyteller who sets ideas free.
I wonder if Dad still writes in Heaven?
Does he type his stories as he used to do?
He enjoyed writing and storytelling it is true.
Dad writes his stories in the heavens so blue.
Happy Father’s Day, Dearest Dad.
I think of you and always pray.
I know that we will meet again,
Somewhere in paradise someday.
