People die every day and life moves on.
Every second and minute a child is born.
We remember our departed loved ones,
For a week, a month a year or several years.
But, we need to move on with our lives.
Life is precious and life is so fragile,
Treasure every precious moment,
Cherish loved ones and stay a while.
Death is a part of life as we all know,
The soul is eternal on the river of life,
That we travel on in happiness and strife.
Just as we celebrate the birth of a child,
We need to remember our loves ones,
Who have departed to the afterlife.
Death is hard to accept for everyone.
The mortal body is left on this earth,
While the soul enters a new spiritual birth.
This poem is dedicated to Steven,
My wife’s young cousin who passed away,
Recently, at the youthful age of forty-seven.
This poem is also written in memory of my father,
The writer and storyteller Melvyn Brown,
Who passed away almost two years ago.
May their souls have a peaceful voyage,
On the sea of eternity as they move forward,
