As a child of seven, Matilda found that she had special powers. She could enter the dreams of her parents and her siblings. As a teenager, Matilda lost those powers. She never thought about it and assumed that it was due to her imaginative childhood, as both her parents were great storytellers.
Matilda’s parents encouraged their children to use their creativity and imagination. Matilda was now in her early twenties and she was working as a psychiatrist in a large city hospital. Matilda’s boyfriend Fred was a young man also in his twenties, and he was a detective in the crime unit at the police station.
On a Saturday night, when Matilda was driving home, after doing a double shift at the hospital, her car crashed into a tree, and she momentarily dozed off to sleep at the steering wheel. Matilda was in a coma at the hospital for three months. During that time, she started to have those weird dreams once again. She entered the dreams of the people in the hospital and in her city. There was something unusual in all those dreams, everyone seemed different. The people she knew so well, like her team at the psychiatrist department and her boyfriend, were all subjects in her dreams.
When Matilda, recovered from her injuries and her comatose condition, she felt like her healthy self once again. The dreams stopped for several months. Then on Christmas Eve, she had the most unusual dream, she saw that all the people in her life and she were all extra-terrestrials. Her dreams were now on an alien planet. The warriors from that planet were coming to destroy Earth. Was she also a warrior like they were or was it just one scary nightmare or was she living someone else’s nocturnal dream?
