Almost all children love Halloween. It is that time of the year again. The time of witches, cauldrons, broomsticks, ghosts, ghouls, black cats, pumpkins, and broomsticks. What are your Halloween memories? Could you use this prompt to discover and uncover, all those skeletons lurking in the creative, imaginative fantasy of your mind today?

Today/s prompt is about “Blood, Pumpkins, Skeletons, and Broomsticks- Monsters, Ghouls, and Halloween most foul”. I thought about writing a few pieces based on this idea and decided to make it a community writing prompt. Feel free to use both horror and humor when writing your literary piece.

You are welcome to start writing and creating with this prompt today. There is no time limit. Write a story, article, or poem based on this prompt, when you are in the “Halloween feeling.” You are welcome to “tag” me when you publish your literary prompt with your creative thoughts on “Halloween”.

Halloween Prompt Response 1: The Skeleton in the Closet

The skulls in the yard

There was a rattle of a shackle in the closet,

There was a bone and a rattle on the floor.

There was the sound of bones and chains,

As the window was washed in the rains.

The full moon was shining like a coin,

In the blackness of the night sky.

The wolves were baying at the moon,

As werewolves hunted to the tune.

The skeleton took out his bank card,

It was time to shop in the front yard.

Mister Skeleton Bones needed to get more skulls,

To fit with a few loose wagging tongues.

There was a rumor as the gossip wagged,

About the last werewolf who was tagged.

Mister Skeleton Bones loved every Halloween,

When he would walk around with his Dead Queen.

Bony Sandy from next door,

Was Mister Skeleton Bone’s love of his life.

He loved the bones of her anyway,

So, they ran away one fateful day.

There were a hundred skulls in the yard,

The Grim Reaper was now on guard.

The Skeleton from the closet was having a lot of fun,

Dancing and bleaching his bones in the sun.

Skeleton Bones danced on the bones and the skulls,

While listening to the sound of flying seagulls.

Skeleton Bones loved every Halloween,

When he would walk around with his bony Queen.
