“I’m not a fighter, but in my mind, I’m fighting every day. ‘What’s new? What am I doing?’ I’m fighting myself. My soul is Samurai. My roots aren’t samurai, but my soul is.”
- Masaharu Morimoto
Every individual may not be a writer, but they could write down their life experiences for themselves and share them with the world. Some people become writers early in life, while some start writing their thoughts later. Some writers prefer to keep their writings private, while others are prepared to share their work with the world. I have noticed that over the last decade, more people have taken to writing, publishing, and sharing their thoughts with the world. This is because social media has taken over cyberspace and most of us need to be connected to family and friends.
We may feel that we are not writers or born writers. Most of us, do write and express ourselves, our thoughts and ideas, every day in the form of emails at work, to colleagues, and emails to friends and family members. A large number of us also share our thoughts in the form of posts on social media platforms. We are very modern writers, though we may not believe that we are writers as we are not composing literary pieces like poems stories, or articles. Most of us are social media writers.
I know that my soul is that of a writer. In my case, my roots are those of a writer, as my father was a prolific writer. My soul is that of a writer. I love to write every day and find that writing is a powerful form of self-expression for me. I have been writing for several decades.
As writers, we make a difference with the words we write. We are changing the world, one word at a time. We all possess the souls of writers. Every individual needs to discover that writer, who lives within us. If you are a writer, you need to write like a samurai. Make an effort to master the literary craft. The best way to do this is to write every day. Keep a journal, where you write all the ideas that come to mind. Go through that journal daily and select the ideas that “speak to you”, next compose a poem, story, or article. You will find that writing every day, is good practice for you and you will become a prolific writing samurai, who knows the value and power of words to make a positive difference in the world.
