I may be happy right now as I prepare this article. I may not be as happy after an hour, if I do something wrong and I get upset. I could be happier later on in the day, when I am sitting, relaxing, watching television, reading a book or listening to music. My happiness levels tend to go up and down, though it does not mean that I am depressed or sad for the rest of the time.
At home, I am relaxed and focussed on what needs to be done around the home. At work, I concentrate on what needs to be done at the work place. In both instances, there are moments of failure, accomplishment, happiness and triumph. Could the happiness that you feel be measured daily?
We know that happiness is a state of mind, and no one is happy all the time. We are happy when something good, great or positive happens for us, and we feel a sense of joy inside us. If you had a daily happiness graph and marked off the moments in a day when you were happy, I guess there would be a few highlights.
Happiness can be very fickle, because what makes me happy today may not make me happy after a few days, week, month or years. As the things we want and need keep changing over the years, so does what makes us happy changes. I am happiest when I am writing, reading, cooking, drawing, listening to music and spending time with family and friends and most of all when I am watching movies or my favourite action TV series. What makes you happy, and could you measure the happiness you feel every day to know exactly where, with who and with what, your happiness lies?
You can be happy every day if you find the key to happiness. I will reveal that soon!
