He watched as his father tilled the soil,
As the sun reflected on the fresh earth.
His father enjoyed his work from dusk to dawn,
He watched his land awake to life every morn.
The farmer’s life was not an easy one,
He worked in the rain, wind, and the sun.
His father worked to feed his family,
Seeing his children through university.
The farmer’s wife worked as hard,
Taking care of the livestock and the farm,
She was his solitude at all times, bringing him calm.
The farmer’s son loved his parents,
But he knew that his destiny lay in the world,
It was not long before he left his home,
To learn, grow and other countries roam.
The farmer took care of his field,
Watering the land and watching it yield,
Crops and a bounty of a golden harvest,
A reward for all his effort he did invest,
Into the land, the soil, and the rich earth,
This was his destiny from his birth.
