“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to reform (or pause and reflect).”
― Mark Twain
Jill was a “community woman”, she supported many causes, and she was an active member of several groups. The result was that Jill was busy during the evenings and the weekends, writing speeches, attending rallies, and being involved in group activities.
It was a very enjoyable thing to do, to meet people, and to be a member of so many groups and causes. Jill loved this life as a young woman. It was through one of these groups, that Jill met her husband Ken and they now had three young children. Jill worked as a librarian, and she was still an active participant in many groups, who were changing the world to make it a better place. Jill was a member of political, environmental, and anti-war campaigns.
After a few years, Jill realized that she was not having her voice heard anymore. She had found a cause that she felt strongly about, and that was to bring about changes in her own neighborhood. Jill set up her group, and she tried to make changes in her locality, from a neighborhood watch to making sure that her streets were kept clean, the street lights were timed to switch off and on depending on the seasons and to free the area of anti-socials, along with other related issues.
Sometimes in life, we find that we have joined the majority and we do not have our voice. What do we do in that instance? We need to discover our passion and what we feel strongly about in life. It is at that time when we need to pause, reflect, and change direction.
