The Sun does not shine,
The Moon only comes out at night.
The dark skies cover the Sun,
As black clouds are on the run.
The warm days of summer are gone.
The bright flowers are not in sight.
The grey days of winter have arrived.
The air is cold and the days are not bright.
The time for the endless winter months,
Have arrived and every day is dark and cold.
There could be snow in the night and the day.
The hounds of winter are here to howl and stay.
The young and the old feel the cold.
The warm blankets and duvets are well-used.
The thick jackets and coats are well-worn.
Trousers are thick, warm, sewn and not torn.
The radiators keep the homes warm and snug.
The homes and work spaces have high electric bills.
It is the time for coffee, hot chocolate, cheese and wine,
When the royal Sun decides not to radiantly shine.
