The Four Walls of the Home and the Walls of Our Imagination
Do we ever free ourselves from the confines of our human existence?
We are born within the walls of the protective womb.
We are nurtured, as we grow and develop to face the world.
That space is all that we know as we enter the human world.
Our minds are limited to the world that is so familiar.
Are we ever free from the confines of human existence?
Our minds, our hearts, and our humanity show its dominance.
The four walls of the home protect us as we grow,
We look outside and we want to receive so much more.
We feel that we have so much more to give freely,
We know that we are ready to step out into the world to live.
Break the walls of old stones and bricks of our imagination.
It is only then we can fly to the stars and celebrate in jubilation.
At school, we are limited to the four walls of the classroom.
Within the security of those walls, we learn about the world.
We discover our purpose in this world to live and to work.
Education, intelligence, and certification are the final perk.
The walls of our minds will crumble when they cannot contain old ideas.
Limiting minds are fostered with worn-out ideals, hopes, and fears.
Armed with knowledge and all the skills we need in the job,
We apply to firms, organizations, and companies to get the job.
Within the four walls of these generators of money, we work,
Taking home to salary to pay our bills, for our food and clothes is the perk.
The walls of our existence eventually turn to shadows and dust.
The strength of our minds, our souls, and our imagination we must trust.
As writers, we are still confined in the walls of our imagination.
We wish we could travel to every country, island, and hill station.
We need to move out of the walls of the limited imagination,
To enter the worlds of infinite possibilities, products of our creation.
A writer who can see the walls of his or her mind and its confinement,
Can break the chains, and shatter the walls to discover pure thoughts and refinement.
