There was a time when a writer would grab a pen, write a note, while an artist would grab a pencil and do a sketch. Things have changed over the years. Today, instead of writing a note or a story idea, a writer will type it in his or her computer or laptop. While an artist will still make a sketch in his or her notebook or create a digital sketch on a laptop.
Do you still go for a pen if you have a great idea and a computer is not close at hand or are you like me and just store the idea in your mind? This is great in theory, but it does not always work, as most ideas stored in the mind disappear.
At a meeting taking notes, most participants, usually type in their notes or jot it down into a notebook with a pen, while a few of them also use a digital pen and a digital notebook for notes and doodles. Technology is moving so fast and we need to keep up with the times or we will be left behind.
Are you the type of creative person who still likes to grab a pen and jot down ideas and sketches? I still enjoy sketching on paper with a pen or pencil. I still like writing notes in a notebook, while I also prefer typing in my ideas on a computer in Microsoft word. My Dad, an octogenarian, would handwrite his articles and then type it on a computer, before emailing it for publication. Dad loved to buy sheets of paper and diaries with a collection of pens for his writings. Are you a “grab a pen” type of person or do you like to type it in a laptop or store your ideas in your mind?
