The Lost Sole

Cast away and forgotten

There it lay,

A lost and forgotten sole.

Discarded, cold and wet it lay,

On the freshly paved rain drenched street,

On yet another dreary rainy day.

A lost sole,

Alone and forgotten.

Perhaps, it had fallen from a box,

Perhaps, it fell out of a full shopping bag.

It was alone, without its pair,

Lying on that wet street drenched in despair.

Have you ever felt like a lost soul?

Do you feel like a forgotten soul?

There are times when we all feel,

That we are alone and forgotten.

Just remember that we all play a part,

In this stage of life and in our world,

That keeps us alive with a strong beating heart.
