At the end of every day,
He knew that he was safe and secure.
He filled his mind with so many ideas,
Thoughts to keep the world away.
Bars to keep away all his hidden fears.
When the day would come to an end,
His mind, his thoughts were his alone,
He kept away his family and every friend.
His mind was his fortress he would always say,
Made out of neurons and cells, not out of clay.
One day he realized that he was wrong,
His mind was his prison and it was so strong.
Every thought he created to keep the world away,
Was now an unbreakable bar of steel, they say,
That no one and not even he could break away.
The day that he realized he was a captive,
Of a fortress in his mind, that he had created,
He was willing to let those bars disappear,
Releasing him from all that hatred and fear.
The mind is a prison and you are its captive,
Meditate, breathe, and allow yourself to live.
