It was a chilly Christmas morning in Cedarwood Grove when Arabela Crox, a renowned crime writer, received an urgent call from Professor Albert Kline. “Arabela, you must come quickly. I’ve received a most unusual gift — a box that’s speaking in rhymes!”
Curiosity piqued; Arabela made her way to the Professor’s grand estate. As she entered the study, she heard the voice emanating from the gift box, reciting a chilling rhyme: “Wherever you go I will follow you. I will know what you see and what you know. Whatever you do and have done, is now exposed to a winter Sun.”
As they pondered the eerie verse, Arabela’s Aunt Agatha arrived, holding an identical gift box she had received on Christmas Day. The two boxes recited the same rhyme, and soon, they discovered that ten other residents in Cedarwood Grove had received similar gift boxes. No one dared to open them.
Arabela and Agatha decided to investigate further. They interviewed the recipients and examined the boxes closely, but found no clues. However, a breakthrough came when they learned about Professor Desmond Swift, a genius in Artificial Intelligence who had recently gone missing under mysterious circumstances.
It was soon revealed that the boxes contained robotic heads designed by Professor Swift. The heads were capable of reading and transferring the thoughts of their owners to a hidden receiver. The criminals who had kidnapped Swift intended to use the information for nefarious purposes. They had sent the boxes to chosen individuals to test the technology.
Unbeknownst to Professor Derek Strand, who oversaw the Institute where Swift worked, the criminals had coerced Swift into creating the robotic heads. As the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, Arabela and Agatha alerted the authorities. The criminals were swiftly apprehended, and Professor Swift was rescued.
Grateful for his cooperation and ingenuity, the town celebrated Swift’s safe return. Cedarwood Grove once again embraced the festive spirit, knowing that the mystery of the speaking gift boxes had been unravelled, thanks to the brilliant minds of Arabela Crox and her Aunt Agatha.
