Nature Zen
Keeping the Balance
The Zen of Nature,
The nature of Zen.
It is not all about beauty,
It is not all about lovely rainbows,
As Puffy clouds sail across the sky.
It is also about the wildness of nature,
The hunt and the kill,
The story of the predator,
The fear of the prey.
The hunter today,
Can be the prey tomorrow.
With all the happiness,
We all feel the pain and the sorrow.
With all the joy of success,
We must first feel the pain of failure.
Our lives are kept in a balance,
That balance that differs from one,
To the other, from sister to brother.
Nature keeps its balance in the world,
Casting its net of wisdom to us like pearls.
We need to mimic nature and to seek,
That special balance to the wisdom peak.
This occurs in meditation and only then,
We learn to love and understand nature Zen.
Wings cover the clouds and blue sky
As birds sail on the air so high
There are moving shadows across the sky,
They have black wings,
They have white wings,
These shadows are fast and light,
Absorbing and reflecting light.
I now see feathers bright and green,
With beaks and watchful eyes unseen.
The birds fly across the skies,
Groups in harmony dance, before our eyes.
When the black ravens fly,
The other birds do not appear in view.
Birds of a feather do fly together,
This is so very honest and so true.
When seagulls flap their large wings and fly,
The air is filled with the seagull's cry.
Wings cover the clouds and blue sky
As birds sail on the air so high.
When white and grey pigeons,
Fly in circles as they flap and coo,
The leaves are dripping with morning dew.
When the vultures and the eagles' shriek,
It is no place for a bird so tiny and meek.
As the bats fly across the moon at night,
The witching hour clocks light up bright.
Every bird has its season to fly and thrive,
Just as we fly through life, we soar and dive.
