Our ship has been sailing the high seas,
Through the storms and the ocean breeze,
Two years ago, we left our normal world.
We have weathered the harshest weather,
We have sailed through storms and gale,
Through the strongest sunshine,
The Pouring rain and the hardest hail.
We are weathered in the summer sun,
We are not going to be beaten in winter snow.
We are determined to continue our voyage,
As over the high seas, we swiftly go.
Anchored we are now in the sea of calm,
In one spot we have lingered for far too long,
We need to set sail once the strong winds blow,
To a new tomorrow, where all adventurers go.
The winds are strong let us set sail,
There is no more time to mourn and wail.
Our ship has been sailing the high seas,
Through the storms and the ocean breeze,
For close to two years now we have sailed.
Passing islands and strange lands on the way,
Some so beautiful, that tempted us to stay.
Alas, we cannot stray too long from our goal,
We have continued on these choppy waters,
Some lost their lives, never to see sons and daughters.
Still, we persist and we onward strive,
With the promise of a brighter future to arrive.
Over the rough waters, we float and run,
Withstanding the blistering heat of the scorching sun.
Surrounded by the water we cannot have a drop,
At our destination, we will quench our thirst,
We hope to arrive soon or our chests will burst.
“Land Ahoy! Land Ahoy!”, shouts the captain,
As the ship is welcomed in the pouring rain.
The New World is the land we all seek,
Where there is peace for the strong and the meek.
The New World is the land we must now build,
With effort, faith, belief, hope, and strong will.
The New World is the land filled with green trees,
The winds of harmony blow in the balmy breeze.
The New World lies a million miles out at sea,
The paradise of peace, joy, brotherhood, and unity.
