The Ocean Floor Moved and the Internet was Dead
What would happen if all the fibre optic cables were destroyed in the sea bed?

We take the internet for granted, like the Sun.
We know that we are connected to everyone.
All the information we need is at our fingertips.
We get all that we need in a matter of seconds.
Knowledge mining is great and the internet wins.
However, what we do not realize,
It is that we are connected across the world,
As there are cables in the bottom of the sea.
These make it all possible for us to share and read,
The latest exciting news and download a new feed.
The Tonga people faced this disappointment,
When they were completely cut off from the web.
The fibre-optic cables in the sea bed snapped,
After one massive volcanic eruption with tremors.
The internet was gone, and so were the digital rumours.
Perhaps there will be a more efficient way,
Sometime in the future for us to be connected.
With the evolution of AI in the world today,
Everything could go in a futuristic space age way.
Once the AI Gods of Knowledge come in to play.

Your Data's Strange Undersea Voyage
The internet is a series of tubes. In the ocean.nautil.us
All the people who made or make their fortune on the Internet would go bankrupt if this happened.
