A flower is not just a flower,
It is so much more with all its parts.
The little bud is tightly encased,
In its small pod from the world.
Every bud is like a tiny tune,
That will open at the right time,
Not too late or too soon.
The petals protect the tiny flower,
Till it is ready to blush and bloom.
The velvet petals, so delicate and rare,
Make the beauty of that blossoming flower,
Special, radiant, and beyond compare.
The bright petals of the flower we observe,
It creates an image our minds can preserve.
A flower in blossom gives us the petal song,
With its presence and its scent so strong.
The petals make the flower so very complete,
Attracting pollinators to carry on the cycle,
As new flowers bloom, they slowly fade away.
Rosebuds bloom to flower another day.
Petals of beauty, love, and protection,
They offer the world so much direction.
They compel us to admire nature’s marvels,
As we rush around, never able to stand still.
In a garden listen hard and listen long,
You will hear the melody of the petal song.
