“True strength is the flower of Wisdom, but its seed is action.”
The young man had returned home, after ten years. His parents had died five years ago. The family bakery was closed. He was an only child and he had no family in the village. Santo had worked in the city for fifteen years. He was married to Sophia and they had three children. Being the only son of his parents, he felt that he needed to continue the family legacy, and decided to reopen the village bakery.
Sophia and Santo, opened the small village bakery, a few months later. It was not a success as most of the villagers had moved away to the city to work. They decided to leave the village and shut the bakery.
The family moved back to the city for a few months. Santo realized that he enjoyed working in the bakery. Santo and Sophia opened a small bakery in the city. It was difficult for the first few months. Sophia was a cake designer, she prepared some exceptionally designed cakes, that became an overnight sensation.
The small bakery in the city was getting a lot of business. It became apparent to Santo and Sophia, that they needed to get a bigger shop. The couple now had a successful enterprise. One evening while returning home, they saw a young boy, about six years old waiting at the bus stop with an elderly priest.
Santo asked the priest, Father Remedios, where he was taking the boy. The priest told him that he was taking the young boy to the local orphanage, as his parents had died a few years ago. He was living with his aunt who passed away recently. The boy had no other family. Father Remedios had informed the orphanage. The orphanage administrator was going to keep the child till she found him a family. Sopha immediately took the opportunity and told the priest they would adopt the child. Father Remedios was happy and said he would inform the orphanage that Jimmy had found a new home. Sophia and Santo were happy, they had four children now to take care of in life.
A few months later, the young Jimmy was happy with his new family and he took care of the shop, like his brothers and sisters. Fifteen years later, Jimmy and his three siblings opened a new restaurant. Santo and Sophia were the proudest parents in that city. Santo knew that he had passed on his legacy to his children as his parents had done before him. His family legacy was his strength in life.
