The Santa Claus Experience in Your Life
Writing Prompt: What is your experience of Santa Claus?

A few of us have had some experience or have come in contact with Santa Claus, as children, teenagers or adults. No, I do not mean the real Father Christmas, but the man dressed as Santa in the red suit. My father would have a Christmas tree celebration for the children in the neighbourhood since he was in his early twenties. He would buy and distribute gifts to the underprivileged children a few days before Christmas. On the same day, Dad would give lunch to the parents. When he met my mother, they would do this together every Christmas. This practice was continued by my parents when I grew up.
After I moved away from India to the UK. I surprised Dad and Mum, a few years ago, during the Christmas period, by arriving at their Christmas celebration for underprivileged children that was being held in a nearby school, dressed as Santa Claus. This was a good surprise for my parents and one that will always remain with me for years to come. Whenever I see Father Christmas, I remember my parents who are no more on the earthly plane, but celebrate Christmas in heaven.
What experience of Santa Claus have you had in your life and was it a good one or one that you would rather forget? We would love to know about your experience, whether you celebrate Christmas or not.
There are so many Santa Claus movies which are worth watching like the “Santa Clause” movie series or “Miracle on 34th Street”. The best modern movie I like set during the Christmas period apart from “Die Hard” or “Jingle All the Way”, will have to be the one where Kurt Russell is Santa in, “The Christmas Chronicles.” Was watching a movie about Santa your best experience?
