The Tales of the Fisherman
Writing Prompt: Have you heard an unbelievable story about a fisherman or a fisherwoman?
There was a fisherman who went out every morning,
To get the largest catch of fish, crabs, and prawns.
He was a very hardworking fisherman, called Jon.
The other fisherfolk were jealous of his luck.
It was not luck, as they believed and as we can see.
Jon was a man who respected and worshipped the sea.
The sea gave so much to the village people.
Yet, the more it gave them, the more they wanted.
When fishing machines came to fish in the sea,
The trawlers were brought in to cover every inch.
The fisherfolk were plundering the life of the sea,
Imagining that the fish would be for all eternity.
It was Jon who always caught the biggest fish.
He was also the man who had his special fishery,
He would take his tiny fish and release them into the sea.
Jon was a fisherman who was a guardian of the sea.
The sea decided to teach the fisherfolk a lesson,
They caught no fish till they repented for their sins.
Jon told them that they needed to respect the sea,
It was like a living being that gave them so much.
They decided to control their fishing in that sea.
To return what they could to allow more to be free.
Have you heard of an unbelievable fishing tale,
Of fishermen and fisherwomen who hunt and sail?
