The naked trees stand in the winter cold,
Free of all those green and yellow leaves.
The trees that once appeared so tall and strong,
Now, they look like skeletons in the icy night.
The Winds howl and the night is dark,
There is no warm space in every park.
The homes are lit, and families are kept warm.
Outside in the cold, there is no protection,
From the whistling gales, breeze and the storm.
The people who live in these tiny homes,
Feel that they are safe, protected and secure,
Till the cold virus enters and there is no cure.
I am winter and this is my season.
The time for me to wreak havoc on this warm world.
I do not need any excuse, cause or reason.
I am winter and I am here to make my presence felt.
I hide those buildings and streets with my cape of snow.
I come for a few months every year, but I want so much more.
There is no escaping the wrath of a cunning winter on the prowl.
The ancients kept our secrets as the devious wolf’s howl.
I am winter and this is my time to reign.
Fingers of cold, frost and ice over this land.
There is no place where you can be safe and warm.
I enter every home when the warmth and fires go out.
I hunt for lost and abandoned souls as I roam about.
The open streets are empty and silent.
No one dares go out to take a chance.
It may very well be their last earthly dance.
The poor homeless are left to wander the streets in the cold.
Their souls I claim as they lie frozen and lifeless in the snow.
Humans speak about charity and kindness, so hard to show.
I am winter and this is my time to rule this world.
An opportunity to make every heart and soul cold.
I fill their minds and their souls with frozen crystals.
I bend their desires, and ambitions as I crush their wills.
Every day they step out into the cold they feel and see,
The dark and coldness of a frozen empire in eternity.
I am the emperor of this cold and majestic world.
My banner flies high over every home in this land,
Till summer enters with flowers in her warm hand.
