We all know that it is difficult to keep a positive frame of mind when there are so many negative things happening every day in the world. It is vital to realize that the way in which we look at the outer world also influences our inner world. The negative happenings in the world create a negative effect in our minds. We need to take control of our inner world and become masters and mistresses of our brain, instead of being slaves to it.
Here is a shortlist of ten ways in which you can be an optimist in the world today. You can add to this list, as you may have some special ways in which you can be an optimist. If you do have some unique ways to remain optimistic, I would love to read them in the comments section of this article.
1. Maximize your successes and minimize your failures. Tomorrow is another day and you will be able to view the issue in a fresh light and tackle it with new ideas.
2. Positive affirmations are powerful in helping you to create a positive frame of mind, for you every day. Create your own list of positive affirmations or mantras, that you can relate to and which are relevant to you, your life, and your world.
3. Focus more on the positive events in your life as this will encourage you to become a more confident person. Start by turning off the news to keep your mind positive at the start and end of the day.
4. Your positive actions resulted in positive occurrences in your life. Keep this in mind and know that whatever positive work you do in your life, will result in positive things happening for you, your family, and your friends.
5. Give yourself credit for all the positive things that happen in your life. Think about your strengths and your contributions in making good things occur in life, by analyzing your thoughts and the way in which your brain works.
6. Inspiration can work wonders. There are times when we get inspired by seeing, hearing, or reading something that alters the way that we think and changes our perspective on an issue or a situation.
7. Motivation can help you to achieve your goals in life. After we get inspired to do something positive in the world, we are motivated to achieve that goal, as we feel that it is the right thing to do. If everyone in the world was inspired and motivated to make the world a positive place, we would all be so much happier.
8. Do not try to predict the future. When we do future predictions of our life, it results in us getting more stressed about what could or may happen in our future. This clouds our judgment and we start creating negative images in our minds. The best way to overcome this state of thought is by replacing all negative images, with positive ones of success, triumph, and achievements that we have done in the past and will do in the future.
9. The Gratitude Diary is excellent for you to keep a record of all the things that you are grateful for having in your life. List all the things, people, places, and events that make you feel happy and grateful. The gratitude diary is a positive resource for the times when you feel demotivated, disinterested, and negative about life.
10. Create a positive environment for yourself, your family, friends, and colleagues. Place picture frames with positive and bright images at home and at work. Let more light into your home and your office. Play light musical tunes to lighten the mood at home and at work. Always discuss positive subjects in the morning, when you wake, and at night before you go to sleep.
These are just ten of the ideas I have listed. Remember that you deserve to have a life filled with positivity and it is only possible when you decide to live a more fulfilling, rewarding, and inspiring life.
