“We promise you the damn world,
One filled with pixies, angels and magic dust.
We will give you clean streets,
We will give you green lands.
Give us your biggest donations,
We will show you our master plans.”
They promise you peace,
A city and country free of crime.
However, they are almost never right,
They are always wrong every time.
They have the support of the people,
Out to do the right and honest thing.
They stick out their necks to speak,
They could lose their freedom,
To speak, to laugh and to sing.
People believe in the illusion,
They believe in all those false promises,
That cultivate the most bitter fruit,
That grow on the branches of avarice and greed.
Slaves of the great political system,
They are destroyed in their hour of need.
Those politics buffoons in the political arena,
Laugh and sing about the wildest of promises,
To every child, parent, gender and senior.
These crippled egos that step into politics,
With bank rolls and controversies that stick,
Have the power and the glory in mind,
With all the avarice and greed, they find.
