Trait of a True Writer
Anyone who writes is not always a writer
Every writer who writes anything puts a part of himself or herself into their work. The writer decides to write about his experiences through the stories created. A writer has a message that he or she wishes to share with the world. In this piece, I have a message that I wish to share. I was thinking about what makes me a writer, who wants to write every day.
The literary landscape is changing fast; websites that would pay writers for their work are now not paying enough. Will this change, who knows, if it will in the future? Writers have opened their hearts and minds in the work that they have created, only to earn pennies. At the same time, there are the spam writers, who have published garbage and will now hopefully get discouraged or will get blocked from using the website.
However, in this fast-moving scenario, I have noticed, that the number of real writers has increased on sites that do not pay. This is great news, as more “real” and genuine writers are coming out of the fires of this publishing mayhem. The trait of a true writer, is the persistence of the individual to continue to write every day, paid or not, because he or she has a passion for the literary craft.
