Walking on Memory Street
Writing Prompt: Have you ever got lost in memories, that they have come alive to you?
There is a world,
One that is similar to ours.
One that is filled with shadows of our past.
One that is always busy as time passes.
A place of memories silent and rare,
Happy and sad memories beyond compare.
Let us walk down memory street.
There are so many familiar places,
So many known people to meet.
Those are my memories from childhood,
Moments both happy, sad and good.
That annoying teacher who was stern and rude,
That terrible cousin who was loud and crude.
Let us take a left turn on this street,
I love all those shops that I spot here.
The baker, the butches and the grocery store,
The Church and the school that still exists.
These great memories still persist.
There is my favourite comic book store,
I try walking away, but it is hard to resist.
I take a turn to my right on this bright street.
That is the road my sweetheart and I walked on.
Time has moved forward, but memories live on.
That is the church, where I married my bride,
A marriage that filled our families with pride.
The next road is where my parents lived,
They have now travelled on to eternity.
I remain with happy memories I can always see.
