When You are “Off Your Game”, how do you get back on?
Do you wait for the interest to come back on its own?
I was under the weather for the last two weeks, when I had other concerns on my mind. I was not even thinking about writing. I had the flu and a cold, not a severe one, but one that just seemed to be present. My head was not in the game of thinking about any stories or even looking for inspiration to write about things that struck me.
Today, is the first day that I have got down to writing this piece and there are a whole lot of other ideas that are now coming to my mind. It feels like the inventive machinery of my imagination and creativity, have started whirring and turning once again.
“I write, I tell stories and that is what I do.” This is what I tell everyone I meet, who asks me what I love doing in life. When I am off my game of writing and creating, I just sit back and rest my mind. I do not try to write anything during this period. It can be a time of mental confusion or physical stress.
The best way to overcome this period of unrest is to calm the mind and to handle the situation that presents itself. Once this mental, physical or emotional disturbance is taken care off, your mind will be ready to create or do what you enjoy doing best in life. How do you get back into your game and do you have a special, method, trick or remedy to put you back into action mode?
