There are so many ideas that float, move and fly in the air. As writers, we are sometimes lost unable to find a good idea. If we just close our eyes, we will hear that whisper in the breeze. It is an idea or idea that glides in the breeze, through windows, doors, across walls and through leaves on trees. Those wafting ideas could be and will be taken by someone who happens to be in their way.

Have you ever felt an idea hit you like an arrow? That would be the work of a thought monkey. The thought monkey is a mischievous creature who carries ideas around your mind. There are electric sparks that are continuously firing in the synapses of your brain, taking thoughts from one neuron to the ext. Those thought impulses are similar to monkeys that swing from one tree branch and from vine to vine, seldom stopping to rest. A few years ago, I wrote a fiction novel about a thought monkey, titled, “Monkey in Mind”. It was interesting for me as a writer to create, craft and present the story for readers, who enjoyed this imaginative fictional piece of writing.
I know that some ideas I have not wanted, so I have allowed them to pass me by. A few days or a day later, I have found that the same idea has been picked up, developed and created into a literary piece of work, by another writer. As human beings, we tap into the mind of the universal consciousness. The ideas we receive are the ones which are ready and waiting for us. Remember not to make the mistake of ignoring a good idea and have it captured like a butterfly by another poet, writer or artist.
