Write a Poem or a Story or an Article with the words, “Roses, Vehicle, Shipyard, Diamonds, Spotlight”.
This is how I did the Exercise
It is always exciting to do a writing exercise. It gives the mind an opportunity to play around with ideas, to find the ones that will work together and to use them to create a coherent story, poem or an article.
I will write a poem to include the five words, “Roses, Vehicle, Shipyard, Diamonds, Spotlight”.
Poem: The Rose in the Spotlight
It was Valentine’s Day,
Adam had not remembered.
He was to meet the lovely Bridget,
In the next twenty minutes.
It was a mad rush to get roses.
At that instant he saw a large vehicle,
Taking flowers to the farmers market.
He knew he saw some of the brightest roses,
Peeping out at him from under the covers.
It was Valentine's Day and the whole road,
Was engulfed with the smell of roses.
At the farmers market,
The roses were being sold,
At prices that were so high,
You would imagine they were,
Decorated with diamonds and gold.
Adam remembered seeing crates of roses,
Delivered at the nearest shipyard every day.
He saw roses being sold in basket and bouquets,
He bought the largest one and cycled away.
When he reached Bridget’s home,
She was waiting for him in a lovely blue dress.
She was his angel of beauty and delight,
He gave her the loveliest bouquet of roses,
Though she was the rose under the spotlight.
Writing Prompt: Write a Poem or a Story or an Article with the words, “Roses, Vehicle, Shipyard, Diamonds, Spotlight”.
One of many thorny bushes , Rosa Rugosa roses are the vehicle that rises from infertile barren concrete-cracked soil that surrounds the Bath, Maine shipyard. The wild white flowers sparkle like diamonds in evening dew drops illuminated by the security spotlight in the night.
