I have always loved watching movies about pirates since I was a child. Reading “Treasure Island” was fascinating for me as a child. I could not believe that the author Robert Louis Stevenson possessed the imagination and the ability to make you believe in pirates. I loved the adventure and love all the adaptations that have been done over the years.
I do not condone any form of piracy, whether it is on the high seas or land or about stolen goods. However, as a writer and an avid cinema goer, I do love watching the thrilling adventures of those Buccaneers who plundered merchant ships and stole all their expensive silk, incense, and bullion, to claim it as their own. Pirate stories are all about storms, shipwrecks, damsels in distress, and pirate treasures, lying at the bottom of the ocean in “Davy Jones Locker”
I will now start a Pirate Story, and the title of this story will be “The Fantastic Tales of Captain Joshua Cutlass Glass-Eye”, you can continue this story and end it by publishing your pieces anywhere, while linking it to this first story introduction.
Title: The Fantastic Tales of Captain Cutlass Glass-Eye
The young boy watched as the captain of the ship was killed by the Cook. He was shocked and did not utter a sound. Joshua had come in to clean the captain’s cabin, while he slept in his bed. The vessel's captain had not been well for a few days, with flu and high fever. He knew he was not supposed to be in the cabin. He had also wanted to look to see if he found any valuable objects lying around. He had given the man some medication from the ship’s Doctor. The tall and grizzled captain had fallen asleep and he was snoring loudly. When the boy was lurking in the cabin, he heard a knock on the door. He hid behind the long red drapes in the room. He saw the cook, Mister Jeff Drybones enter the captain’s room. He immediately went to the bed and suffocated the captain under a large pillow from the bed. No one liked the captain and the men were plotting in secret to have a mutiny. Joshua wondered who the next captain of the ship, “Safire Dreams”, would be. Could it be the brutal “Heartless Harry” or “Jaundice Pete”, both were wicked men and just perfect for the job of pirate captain.
That was ten years ago. Today, Joshua was the captain of “Safire Dreams”. He loved this ship and he had grown from a boy to a man and a seasoned buccaneer on this vessel. He was twenty-one and he knew how to keep control of his men. Joshua or “Captain Cutlass Glass-eye” had come a long way. However, he needed to secure his position as pirate captain, if he was to stay alive. They had not plundered a town for the last two months; the men were impatient. The town they wanted to attack was “St. Martin’s Refuge” and that was the place where his beloved Rosalee, the Governor’s daughter stayed with her father. He had to come up with a plan to save himself and the woman he loved.
