Life is made up of bundles, upon bundles of experiences, some are good, some are bad, some are normal, some sad and some are harrowing. In this writing exercise, we will focus on those terrifying disturbances that you or someone close to you, like a relative or friend experienced.
I recall my parents first telling me that as a baby, I almost crawled out of a first-floor open window. It was only by my father’s quick reflexes that he grabbed his one-year-old and saved him. I remember the harrowing incident of being knocked slightly by a slow-moving car, flying in the air to land on my feet some distance away.
I remember the time, when I almost slipped into a pond when I was on holiday visiting a small town in India, after the heavy monsoon rains. Luckily I had a large open umbrella, that I used to dig into the soft earth, to stop me from sliding in the flood and into the covered pond. Sometimes life can be more exciting than a fiction novel.
Have you had any harrowing incidences in your life that you can recall and write a story about for this creative prompt? Did you hear about a horrifying incident that one of your friends experienced and which sounds both dramatic and terrifying?
