“The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.”
― Isaac Asimov
Artificial intelligence keeps moving forward every second. Data is power and it does not rest in our hands. We create materials, we study, we research, and yet we have artificial intelligence putting all that information together, to form coherent details, that we humans can use in so many fields of endeavor.
Our human brains are not able to process all the information created by humanity, over so many hundreds of years. We always generate information, in a wide variety of forms and structures. We are so good at creating piles and piles of statistics and resources, that we cannot manipulate with our human brains.
To solve this issue of managing astonishing amounts of information, we created AI systems, to do the job for us. The result of this great decision was that we now have today, artificial intelligent systems and processes, that can collate, manage, and manipulate information, to assist us from the fields of science and architecture to medicine and robotics.
Our human brain will always be limited by the size and structure of our brains, online computerized creations, that can now independently create, and generate information that can be understood and utilized by humanity. Are we humans with our tiny human brains, going to be left far behind in advancement, by super-intelligent, unemotional, yet logical artificial intelligent beings of the future? Science does gather knowledge so much faster than society gathers wisdom.
Our minds are too small, in so many ways, from our attitudes to our narrow-minded ways of thinking to the barriers we impose on ourselves, our imaginations, creativity and our freedoms. Humanity will not be able to take full advantage of what AI could offer, and it may be generations into the future when machines will be able to manipulate and use that information for the benefit and advancement of humanity.
Robots can never replace humans with all our thoughts, empathy, emotions and souls. It is a sorry waste that the human brain will never be able to use all that useful information for the benefit of mankind, which is a tragedy.
We humans are like grains of sand in the vast cosmos of intelligence and creation.
What do you think, Warren? Do you think we will be left behind?
