Writing Prompt: Has AI Smashed Our Human Paradise?
We were so comfortable living the life we controlled
We do not like it when things go out of control in life. Furthermore, we just enjoy our “simple lives”, whether it is in a small town, a city, or living a luxurious lifestyle in some exotic corner of the world. Whatever, the economic level of your existence, you enjoy it and would not want to change anything. Unless, you are not rich and hope to be a millionaire soon.
AI originated in 1950 with the paper written by Alan Turing, “Computing Machinery and Intelligence”. A computer scientist, Arthur Samuel, developed a program to play checkers, and it was the first time that a machine could do it independently. What if Alan Turing and Arthur Samuel were not born or created that paper and the program, would AI have still come into the world? I believe that AI would have been thought of by some writer somewhere in the world, and it would have again made its presence felt in the world, as it is doing today.
For some, a world with AI would be a paradise. For others, artificial intelligence are dreaded words and represent the forces of evil. No wonder the old tribes of people in various cultures and civilizations, in the world, felt their souls would be trapped in photographs. Imagine what they would have thought about electric lights and moving pictures on the television and on a computer screen?
Most of us are so complacent in life, we are familiar with, and we are not willing to break those boundaries of our imagination and creativity. We love our paradise, filled with the things we love and know. Has AI smashed our human paradise, filling it with so many uncertainties? So many of us are asking ourselves if we will be replaced by machines, as human tasks are not being done by machine and artificial intelligent programs.
