Does the body need to be broken for the spirit to fly, to the realms beyond? In movies we see main characters going through a whole range of tasks, punishments, and ordeals before they can succeed. The same treatment is given to heroes in stories and they are allowed to succeed after they have overcome the challenges and obstacles laid out in front of them. In reality, life can have its ups and downs, its challenges, and hurdles that need to be overcome.
A woman faced all the difficulties in life after her family of four was taken from her in a car accident. Her home was burgled while she was away at work. During the rains and storms, the roof of her home caved in and she was forced to live in her neighbour’s shed. Yet, this lady did not break. She continued to do her daily work at the store and maintained her cheery disposition. Two years later, life changed for the better and she got a job as a manager in the store. The woman had evolved as a person, with her spirit that was stronger and intact. This is a fictional account, about a spirit being broken, however, there are similar instances that occur in life.
Some people go through a lot of hardships in life, a few of them break down while some of them manage to struggle and survive. A spiritual victory occurs when an individual relies on their inner strength and faith to help them keep their sanity when life gets tough. There have been prisoners of war who have been tortured and yet maintained their strong spirits, even after they have been released from prison of war camps.
It does seem that only when the body of a person, breaks down, due to age, natural circumstances, accidents, disease, or calamities, does the spirit leave for its spiritual plane. Death conquers life and allows the spirit to have its moment of victory.
