Writing Prompt: Losing Imagination and Creativity
What would happen to the human mind?
Imagine if we all awoke one day,
To find that we could not think creatively.
We had lost the power of our imagination,
We were without the activity of creativity.
What would happen to the human mind,
Would it be of a very different kind?
Suppose we could not imagine again,
No more would a poet write about the rain.
Every adult and child would be truly lost,
Like sunshine dissolving stubborn frost.
The mind of all would be blank and free,
Without the gifts of imagination and creativity.
There would be no more invention and innovation,
No great scientific discoveries and acclamation.
Humanity would drift back to the dark and lost ages,
Without imagination to turn ideas into progress on pages.
Imagine if we all awoke one day in the future,
To find that we could not think creatively together.
We had lost the power of our imagination for all time,
We were without creativity in thought and rhyme.
Dig a hole. Bury head in sand. Close eyes. Imagine a new scene. The grains crystallize. Lose imagination , you got Alzheimer’s. Eat,sleep, look at a blank screen with white flickers . Boring.
I find great joy in being creative - can't imagine a life without it 💙
