Writing Prompt: Why Be Mortal When You Can Be Immortal?
What if you had a choice to be immortal, would you take it?
The Jellyfish is an immortal aquatic creature.
It does appear to live forever, in the water.
How does the jellyfish live so long?
It simply rewinds its lifespan like a song.
The jellyfish reverts its cells to an earlier time.
It does survive new seasons and a new clime.
What if every human could do the same?
Rewind their lifespan to an earlier time.
To send the body back to when it was young,
To de-age every cell in the body in no time.
To make a seventy-year-old person go back forty years,
To turn young again, with more wisdom and less tears.
Suppose you were given the gift of being young,
At your next birthday party as a surprise.
Would you take that present with open hands?
Make a wish and step into life with young eyes.
Would you be happy being an immortal being?
With so much time to enjoy, love, life, and living.
No looking back or turning the clock around. Karmas done worked out. Why repeat the things done. Can’t change. Jellyfish have to endure the lower form of life shooting stinger missiles into prey. Humanity does the same. I want to evolve not do instant replay, and rewind the clock. Take the last leap to explore new possibilities.
