Several people like to write every day. They are the ones who somehow, keep time aside to write a page every day, sensible or gibberish, but they still write. I love writing every day, but there are times when I take a short break.
Do you suffer from guilt for not writing every day, especially, if you consider yourself to be a writer? Years ago, I would feel guilty for not writing every day, not anymore. I like to imagine, that the days of peace away from the computer, the diary or the journal, are opportunities to get more ideas together, to relax the mind and allow it to grow.
Have you as a writer, managed to overcome your guilt of not writing every day? It is possible, that you have a few tips and tricks, about how you maintain your output as a writer. I have found that if I do not write a creative literary piece for a few days, I return with a large number of ideas that are waiting to burst onto a page.
My history as a writer - at least when it comes to novels - is that I'll get on a roll and write every day for months at a time. But then I'll take a break which ends up lasting longer than I had planned. This is when I feel guilty.
I don't feel guilty if I don't write everyday because you can burn yourself out. But, when I'm working with a schedule, I try to at least write 1,500 words a day. It just depends on what's scheduled for that month.
