Writing Prompt-The Split Second Moment to Prevent a Mistake in Life
Every second matters in life
“Every great mistake has a halfway moment, a split second when it can be recalled and perhaps remedied.”
- Pearl Buck
I remember that split second when something can be prevented from happening. Yet, it was at that instant that I did not make the right move. Like when I saw the cup about to overflow, pouring coffee. Yet, I knew it was about to happen. Perhaps the next time, I will stop pouring too much water into my coffee or tea cup.
I also recall the moment, when I was crossing the road. I saw a car coming towards me in the distance. Furthermore, I was not sure what to do. I could run across, which I did, and it just grazed me a few years ago. There was no damage, but I flew in the air with the impact, across the road. It was at that split second that I decided what to do, which prevented a more serious situation.
What was that split-second moment in your life, when you prevented an accident or something serious from happening? Would you say that you are always in control of the split seconds of your life? If you are not, what do you plan to do so that you are quicker to react and stop mistakes from happening?
Writing Prompt-The Split Second Moment to Prevent a Mistake in Life
My cat Oliver stepped outside. I noticed a four foot dark line he was walking up to beside potted plants. I saw it was no fallen stick. I ran out between the rattle snake and cat to grab Oliver from harm , not thinking of the danger that the snake could quickly turn to strike at me. But I felt no harm would come. The snake I left to continue its rest in the sun while Oliver and I returned to safety inside.
