My cat Oliver stepped outside. I noticed a four foot dark line he was walking up to beside potted plants. I saw it was no fallen stick. I ran out between the rattle snake and cat to grab Oliver from harm , not thinking of the danger that the snake could quickly turn to strike at me. But I felt no harm would come. The snake I left to continue its rest in the sun while Oliver and I returned to safety inside.
And the snake lived and left us alone. A few days later Oliver found it camouflaged in brown leaves he leaped about 3 feet in the air. The snake was coiled. But minds his own business.
