If you value the writer and their work
Those are all valid reasons. Personally, I can't afford a lot of subscriptions, but there are a few whose writing and ideas are so valuable it feels like theft to read for free. I wish I could afford more.

What is the purpose of these surveys?
It is not a survey, just my opinion and a way to get more free readers to start paying, especially for those who can afford to do so. :)
